About the Job
This Senior Bookkeeper (full-time, in office) position is responsible for overseeing the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in bookkeeping/accounting and knowledge of computer accounting systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal requirements compliance.
- Accounts for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts, defining bookkeeping policies and procedures, and balancing subsidiary accounts.
- Verifies, allocates, and posts transactions to maintain subsidiary accounts, balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance and reconciling entries, and maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends, and complies with federal, state, and industry legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence, and filing reports.
- Enforces company procedures, account guidelines, and customer service standards in the area of ticketing, commission disbursements, credit card transaction compliance, and communicates effectively and professionally.
- Provides exceptional support to employees, agents, and customers in person, over the phone, and via email, assists in issuing invoices, receipt payments, and maintaining financial documents, and assists in HR administration.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of proven work experience as a Bookkeeper or Staff Accountant.
- Strong numeracy and communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve problems and make critical decisions.
- Excellent knowledge of computer accounting systems and Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel.
- A high level of attention to detail and familiarity with travel management processes and practices.
Compensation
The estimated annual salary range for this role is $65,000-$75,000, including benefits and 10 vacation days. Benefits include health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
