About the Position:

This Senior Financial Analyst position requires a highly skilled individual to assist in developing long-term financial strategies, including Development Charges, Inclusionary Zoning, and Community Benefits Charge. The successful candidate will also be responsible for administering, reviewing, and reconciling Municipal Funding, tracking and reporting on Municipal funding, and providing By-law interpretations to the Planning and Building Services department.

Responsibilities:

  • Developing long-term capital financial strategies and planning
  • Assisting with the review and updating of the City's 10-Year Water and Wastewater Financial Plan
  • Liaising with various City departments to gather and analyze financial data associated with projects
  • Providing By-law interpretations to the Planning and Building Services department and development community
  • Quoting and calculating interest for SP/ZBAs application
  • Managing and administering development charge grant programs

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Accounting, or similar field of study
  • Five (5) years' experience in accounting, financial analysis, budgets, or equivalent preferably within the Ontario Municipal finance sector
  • AMCTO Municipal Accounting & Finance certificate and/or CPA designation
