About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team at Powertech Labs Inc. as a Substation Electrical Systems Engineer.

Job Description
  • Perform electrical studies and analysis: Conduct desktop analytical studies, including modeling and simulation applied to transient analysis, impact studies, equipment failure investigations, insulation coordination, equipment specification, grounding, and arc-flash studies.
  • Test and inspect electrical systems: Set up and conduct electrical tests associated with station equipment and grounding, and write clear and concise study reports.
Requirements
  1. A Master's or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred; applicants with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and relevant work experience will be considered.
  2. Registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer in Training with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (or ability to transfer accreditation) is required.
  3. Experience in substation equipment planning and design, testing, commissioning, protective relaying, maintenance, and analytical studies is an asset.
  4. Excellent technical knowledge in Electric Utility Engineering and/or heavy industrial experience is required.
  5. Introductory knowledge of project management, including estimating, cost control, and project administration, is an asset.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as retirement savings options.
