Job Description:

We invite applications for a Clinical Mental Health Nurse position in our Community Mental Health team. In this role, you will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team to provide person-centered and recovery-oriented care to clients with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate care for clients by collaborating with the interprofessional care team, performing intake functions, conducting mental health assessments, and developing comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Provide direct nursing care to clients, including reviewing client/family history, conducting physical/psychosocial assessments, assessing vital signs, and implementing care plans.
  • Work from a strengths-based model, using motivational interviewing and engagement techniques to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Establish and maintain therapeutic relationships based on respect with clients and their informal support network.
Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you must have a degree in Nursing or Psychiatric Nursing, as well as two years of recent related experience providing treatment services to individuals with mental health and/or concurrent disorders. You must also be eligible for completion of the BC Provincial Opiate Addiction Treatment Support Program course and approved related preceptorship.

You will be required to demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
