Salary and Benefits:

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary range of $39.07 to $56.00 per hour, commensurate with their level of experience and qualifications. In addition to a comprehensive compensation package, Halton Healthcare offers a range of benefits, including a pension plan, life insurance, and a generous paid time off program.

Job Description:

This dynamic and compassionate healthcare professional will provide patient care, triage, and nursing assessment in all areas of the Emergency Department. They will administer care to adult and pediatric patients from all triage priorities, requiring expertise in a diverse range of skills from stabilization and care of the critically ill to first aid. The ideal candidate must be able to transport critical patients, including burn victims, neurological emergencies, and trauma victims, to other facilities as needed.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
  • Current Heart & Stroke approved Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire
  • Current ACLS Certification required at time of hire and ongoing
  • Minimum of 3-5 years current Emergency nursing experience required
  • ECG monitoring including arrhythmia interpretation required
  • Post-diploma Emergency courses, successful completion of Canadian Emergency Nursing Certificate Exam and/or ACLS would be preferred
  • Computer skills an asset
  • IV therapy skills required
  • Excellent teaching and public relations skills
  • Good team player
  • Self-directed
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
