Calian Group Ltd. is a trusted provider of healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces. As part of our Health Care Provider Contract, we seek a full-time Addictions Counsellor with expertise in outpatient addictions treatment.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team at Canadian Forces Base Winnipeg and provide high-quality counselling services to military personnel struggling with addiction.

Main Responsibilities
  1. We are seeking an individual with strong assessment and diagnostic skills to evaluate substance-use disorders and develop effective treatment plans.
  2. This role involves assessing process addictions such as pathological gambling, sexual behavior, and gaming.
  3. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with clients and our inter-disciplinary health care team to address complex addiction issues.
  4. Responsibilities include providing therapeutic interventions in both individual and group settings, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client care.
  5. Evaluation of program effectiveness, interventions, and client progress is crucial to this role.
  6. Facilitating educational activities, group interventions, and delivering psycho-educational sessions are key aspects of this position.
  7. Maintaining confidential client records and reports is essential to maintaining professional standards.
Requirements and Qualifications
  1. A Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work, or Psychology from a recognized university is required.
  2. The ideal candidate must hold registration with the relevant licensing body in Manitoba and have relevant post-graduate experience.
  3. A minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, including addictions assessment, treatment planning, individual therapy, and group therapy for adult populations, is necessary.
  4. CPR Level C certification with AED is mandatory.
Additional Requirements

Candidates must be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level.

Estimated Salary Range: $65,000 - $90,000 per annum
