Job Title: Teacher with Learning Coach Responsibilities

We are seeking a qualified Teacher with Learning Coach experience to join our team at Kullik Ilihakvik Elementary School in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut.

About the Role:

This is a full-time position (1.0 PY) with a start date of January 3, 2025, and an end date of June 13, 2025. The position is subject to change based on approved school calendars.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach students in a K-6 setting
  • Provide learning coach support to students and staff
  • Develop and implement literacy strategies
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support student learning
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Education degree
  • Eligible for Nunavut Teaching Certificate
  • Minimum of two years teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with reading processes, acquisition, assessment, and instruction using balanced literacy strategies
  • Experience in collaborative support to students in the effective implementation of formative assessment and differentiated instruction
  • Experience with formative and summative assessment implementation, reporting, and analysis
What We Offer:

The Government of Nunavut is committed to supporting staff development through well-designed professional learning opportunities. We offer a competitive salary range of $83,643 to $131,151 prorated/annum, plus a Northern Allowance of $19,716 prorated/annum.
