Crop Extension Specialist Opportunity

The Government of Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Crop Extension Specialist to join their team. As a key member of the Regional Services Branch, you will play a vital role in providing technical expertise and leadership in crop production management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and deliver comprehensive technical expertise in crop production management
  • Provide leadership in developing, implementing, and promoting crop extension priorities
  • Identify crops-related research and extension priorities to increase the adoption of new agricultural technologies and practices
  • Collaborate with ministry partners to deliver client service focused on program awareness, public trust, environment, research, and technology transfer
Requirements:
  • Experience as an agrologist with in-depth knowledge of crops, soils, pest management, and other topics relevant to crop production in Saskatchewan
  • Leadership skills in delivering client service
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team
  • Exceptional communication skills to strategically interpret and transfer relevant information to producers, industry, and colleagues
  • Organizational skills to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal leadership skills to build and maintain professional relationships
