Salary and Benefits


The Mechanical Engineering Director position offers a competitive salary range of $170,000 to $210,000 per year, with comprehensive benefits that include health and welfare security, paid time off, and a Global Profit Share Plan. A GRRSP 5% company match is also available to support employees' future savings.



Job Description


We seek a highly skilled and innovative Mechanical Engineering Leader to join our Toronto office. The ideal candidate will lead large, complex projects, develop our dedicated team, and coordinate with other disciplines and external partners within time and budget constraints.



Responsibilities:



  • Design and manage large, complex projects while coordinating with other disciplines and external partners.
  • Lead and develop a team of mechanical engineers across Canada with a focus on sustainable design.
  • Attend meetings and communicate with clients to establish their needs and discuss design issues.
  • Predict and plan current and future resources, including strategic membership growth, while developing and mentoring the team.
  • Represent Arup at high levels nationally and internationally.
  • Create an environment of inclusivity that inspires the growth and career development of junior and senior team members.


Qualifications and Skills


The successful candidate must possess a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, a minimum of 15 years of experience in the built environment with major project leadership experience, and extensive experience with HVAC and plumbing systems in buildings. Professional Engineer in Canada (P.Eng) certification and experience in multidisciplinary project leadership are also required.
