Job Summary:

The City of Melville is seeking a skilled Parks and Recreation Labourer III to join our team. As a key member of our parks and recreation department, you will be responsible for performing routine labour duties under immediate supervision. This role requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and excellent communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine labour duties of a routine nature under immediate supervision.
  • Operate equipment such as weed eaters for extended periods.
  • Prepare individual time sheets and maintain accurate records.
  • Work effectively as part of a team and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues and the public.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Requirements:
  • Arena Operator Level I Certification (asset).
  • WHMIS Certification.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED Certification.
  • Minimum Grade 12 or its equivalent.
  • Possess a valid Class 5 Driver license.
  • Ability to lift a minimum 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work shift work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions:
  • Work in a variety of outdoor environments, including parks and recreation facilities.
  • Work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Salary:
$21.96 per hour as per existing CUPE Local Agreement No. 456.
