We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Production Director to lead our dairy processing, packaging, and raw materials operations at our Don Mills facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement effective short-term and medium-term production plans in collaboration with the Production Planning Manager.
- Execute the production plan for a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation, ensuring sustainable cost competitiveness and customer service.
- Manage a large team across all shifts, including headcount planning, resource allocation, and discipline.
- Implement lean manufacturing techniques to drive continuous improvement and zero losses.
- Lead the implementation of autonomous maintenance programs and collaborate with Operation Effectiveness teams to deliver the site's lean manufacturing roadmap.
- Effectively lead and motivate a team through proactive communications, employee involvement, and participation.
- Operate effectively within a unionized environment and plan and deploy human resources to deliver the strategic and operational plan.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 12 years of progressive manufacturing experience in the food or consumer goods industry.
- Minimum 7 years of experience leading a team in a production environment.
- Proven track record of delivery and change management in a complex manufacturing site.
- Extensive experience leading and implementing lean manufacturing.
- Dynamic leader experienced with operating in a unionized site.
