Senior Engineering Manager, XVA and Market Data Technology

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Engineering Manager to lead our XVA platform development team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the engineering team, ensuring business strategies are executed, and delivering high-quality solutions that meet regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and drive a customer-focused culture within the team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships.
- Develop and implement the global XVA platform strategy, facilitating priority setting and driving delivery through a team of engineers.
- Maintain and update XVA platform technology stacks to provide a competitive advantage to the business and ensure Bank compliance with software currency.
- Understand and apply the Bank's risk appetite and risk culture in day-to-day activities and decisions.
- Create an environment that fosters effective and efficient operations, adhering to Scotiabank's Values, Code of Conduct, and Global Sales Principles.
- Build a high-performance team, implementing a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops, and motivates team members.
- 10+ years of experience in building applications using Java, Spring, SQL, and Caching, with expert engineering knowledge and experience of complex systems design.
- 5+ years of experience in Elastic Search, Kafka, Docker, or similar container and orchestration platforms, familiar with web application development concepts.
- Expert knowledge of data models and analytics, with a strong understanding of SQL concepts, database design, and modeling, performance analysis, and optimizations.
- Strong understanding of system security concepts and tools.
- Familiarity with Linux commands and general troubleshooting in a Linux environment.
- Solid leadership skills with excellent collaboration skills, ability to negotiate and build rapport with senior stakeholders.
