About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Meat Cutter to join our team at Tasty Sweets and Restaurant Ltd. As a Meat Cutter, you will be responsible for preparing and cutting meats to high standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting
  • Cut and trim carcasses, sides, and quarters to exact specifications
  • Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat for our menu
  • Wrap and package prepared meats for storage and display
  • Remove bones from meat to ensure quality and safety
  • Cut poultry into parts and cut fish into steaks and fillets
  • Grind meats to the correct consistency
  • Slice cooked meats to order
  • Shape, lace, and tie roasts, other meats, poultry, and seafood to perfection
Equipment and Machinery Experience
  • Operate a band saw to cut through meat with precision
  • Use manual cutting utensils to trim and cut meat
  • Run a power grinder to grind meat to the correct consistency
  • Use a slicing machine to slice cooked meats
Personal Qualities
  • Accurate and detail-oriented in your work
  • Dependable and reliable in your attendance and work habits
  • Flexible and able to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines

Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field
  • Work setting: Restaurant and food service
