Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement packet forwarding engine software and system software to manage hardware components.
  • Develop functional specifications and design specifications for small-sized packet forwarding engine features and system software.
  • Collaborate with the hardware team and hardware component vendors to bring up initial versions of new systems using packet forwarding engines and system software.
  • Work with the diagnostic software team to design and develop software for the validation of new packet forwarding engine ASICs and hardware components.
  • Develop automated tests for packet forwarding engine software and system software, and monitor the execution of those tests.
  • Mentor new and junior engineers to bring them up to speed in Arista's software development environment.

Requirements:

  • BSc, MS or Ph.D. in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering with 2+ years of related post graduate work experience
  • Experience or knowledge in C or C++, UNIX or Linux, IP networking or distributed systems, and software engineering principles
  • Strong problem-solving and software troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to design a solution to a small-sized problem, and implement that solution without outside help

Arista offers a competitive salary range of $95,000 to $145,000, depending on work location. In addition to base pay, certain roles may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and equity. Employees are also entitled to benefits including medical, dental, vision, wellbeing, income protection, and a Group Retirement Savings Plan.
