About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Kitchen Assistant to join our team at Rangeela Modern Indian Kitchen & Bar. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our kitchen.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Sanitation: Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen environment, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment.
  • Food Preparation: Assist in the preparation and portioning of food, including wrapping and labeling.
  • Supply Management: Receive, unpack, and store supplies in refrigerators, freezers, cupboards, and other storage areas.
  • Waste Management: Remove kitchen garbage and trash, and ensure the proper disposal of waste.
  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, wash, and polish floors to maintain a clean and safe environment.
  • Vegetable and Fruit Preparation: Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit as needed.
Support for Diverse Groups
  • Accessibility Training: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities.
  • Cross-Cultural Training: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees.
  • Youth Support: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Veteran Support: Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for Veterans.
  • Indigenous Support: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
  • Mature Worker Support: Provide staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers.
  • Visible Minority Support: Provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
