H CLAIR FINISHING CARPENTRY LTD. is seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team. As a Finish Carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials. You will also prepare tenders and quotations, build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems. Additionally, you will fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware, and supervise other workers. The ideal candidate will have 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the trade and possess accurate, efficient interpersonal skills, judgement, reliability, and the ability to work in a team. The position offers a permanent employment opportunity with 40 hours of work per week and the possibility of overtime. The language of work is English.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
  • Prepare tenders and quotations
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants and other establishments
