Salary


The estimated annual salary for this position is between $45,000-$65,000, commensurate with experience and skill level.


Job Description


As a Laboratory Assistant, you will play a crucial role in the specimen collection process, ensuring patient care and satisfaction. This is an important position that lets you see the difference you make in patients' lives.


Your responsibilities will include:



  • Greeting patients, explaining the specimen collection process, and ensuring they have followed necessary test protocol prior to collection.
  • Performing phlebotomies, connecting/disconnecting holter monitors, 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, and performing ECG tracings.
  • Maintaining client relationships, including responding to inquiries and following up on requests.
  • Preparing specimens for transportation and testing.

Required Skills and Qualifications


To succeed in this role, you will need:



  • Completion of a recognized Medical Laboratory Assistant program or equivalent related experience.
  • ECG training or experience is an asset.
  • Proficient data entry skills.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
