Job Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Regulatory Engineer to join our team. In this role, you'll be responsible for leading and contributing to certification projects, developing product certification test plans, and monitoring certification activities. You'll also review and analyze data and test reports, prepare regulatory documentation, and present it to certification authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and contribute to certification projects from application to final certification on various certifications from multiple certification bodies.
  • Participate in the development of product certification test plans (DVP&R).
  • Monitor certification activities, tests, and deliverables.
  • Review, analyze, and approve data and test reports.
  • Prepare regulatory documentation and deliverables and present them to the certification authorities.
  • Support and advise the R&D teams on regulatory aspects.
  • Lead product testing accreditations audits.
  • Participate in planning and prioritization meetings and document the progress of tasks and projects under your responsibility.
  • Structure and organize work and plan associated deliverables according to project requirements.
  • Contribute and lead in regulatory monitoring, implementation, and compliance with new applicable standards.
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects for tools, processes, and procedures.
  • Contribute and participate in codes and standards development committees.
  • Create and present training level presentations for the organization in regards to certification and regulatory topics.

Requirements:

  • BACC or DEC in electrical, electronic, mechatronics, instrumentation engineering or equivalent.
  • Excellent command of French and English (bilingual 4 out of 5 orally and written).
  • Experience in product certification and/or compliance with excellent ability to draft documents intended for regulatory or compliance authorities.
  • Experience with UL, CSA, ETL standards and organizations.
  • Excellent analytical sense, rigor, and discipline.
  • Strong interest in regulatory aspects and product safety.
  • Spirit of synthesis and ability to popularize and use appropriate verbal and written language.
  • Experience in a product development environment and processes (NPD).
  • Ease and desire to pass on knowledge and develop expertise in regulatory matters.
  • Practical experience in a validation and testing environment an asset.
  • Experience with household appliances and ventilation products an asset.
  • Knowledge of Proposition 65, REACH, RoHS, and ISO17025 standards an asset.
  • Initiative, autonomy, and ability to work under a set of guidelines and general objectives and deliver the expected services and deliverables.
  • Knowledge of the MS Office suite.
  • Being recognized as an Authorized UL Signatory is an important asset.
