About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Research Scientist to join our Downstream Process Development team as an Associate Scientist. In this role, you will be responsible for driving the development and optimization of clinical and commercial manufacturing processes for antibody purification.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, plan, and execute experiments to optimize downstream processing operations for antibody purification;
  • Collaborate with multiple teams to build optimal solutions for challenges in antibody purification and production;
  • Benchmark specific technologies in your functional area to bring them up to date;
  • Solve complex problems through analytical thinking to identify and understand alternatives using knowledge gained through formal education, experience, and sound judgment;
  • Liaise with CMC team members and other partners to communicate project updates and deliverables;
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures;
  • Organize, support, and collaborate with team members to meet project deliverables and timelines.

Requirements and Qualifications

We are looking for an enthusiastic scientist with a strong desire to support early-phase antibody development by finding unique ways to improve and speed up the discovery to CMC development to GMP manufacturing paradigm. You should have an M.Sc or B.Sc and 2-5 years of relevant work experience in downstream process development within a biotechnology or pharmaceutical organization.

Your Skills and Experience

  • Experience with different purification techniques such as chromatography, normal flow filtration (NFF), tangential flow filtration (TFF), and associated instrumentation such as AKTA chromatography systems and UNICORN software;
  • Experience with bioanalytical assays associated with purification processes, such as SDS-PAGE, HPLC, cIEF, etc.;
  • Outstanding communication and teamwork skills;
  • Highly motivated and excited about working with an inspired team on challenging problems that matter.

We offer a competitive salary range of CAD $60,500 - $75,600 annually, commensurate with your education and job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to base salary, we offer equity, annual bonus dependent on team and company performance, and a 6% RRSP contribution.
