Job Description

The Industrial Engineer will play a key role in ensuring robust manufacturing process design and leading production improvement projects.

This includes managing manufacturing performance deliverables such as implementation of CI suggestions, scrap reduction initiatives, and OEE improvements.

Supporting technical and manufacturing solutions; including engineering and design to achieve goals and objectives relating to projects and services for continuous improvement and risk reduction across all production plants nationally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct time studies to identify capacity constraints and opportunities to improve efficiencies and reduce manufacturing costs.
  • Develop and implement Process Control Plans and Process Flow Charts to improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Coach and mentor other facilitators on the Continuous Improvement Activities to drive cultural change.
  • Provide training on Lean Manufacturing elements and other best practices to enhance employee knowledge and skills.
  • Lead line design workshops to optimize the layout of production lines, workstations, and material flow.
  • Participate in Value Stream Mapping to analyze and improve the flow of materials and information within a process or across a full value stream.
  • Generate and maintain line layouts to optimize floor space and improve workplace efficiency.
  • Assess workstations to ensure they meet ergonomic standards and enhance worker safety and efficiency.
  • Implement lean manufacturing and material flow techniques to drive process improvements.
  • Lead multi-disciplined teams to address and fulfill objectives associated with manufacturing process, productivity, volume outputs, scrap/rework, quality, safety, and delivery commitment.
  • Ensure compliance and enforcement of ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001.
  • Lead plant improvement actions to drive continuous improvement and growth.

Qualifications

  • BSc in Engineering, preferably Industrial or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing and assembly processes.
  • Knowledge of workstation design and ergonomics.
  • Understanding of Lean Manufacturing Tools.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD or similar CAD applications an asset.
  • Intermediate computer skills in Spreadsheets, Word Processing, Microsoft Project, Flowcharts, and an understanding of BI, SAP, CAD.
  • High level of organizational skills required.
