Job Description

**Job Summary**

The Royal Canadian Navy is seeking a skilled Weapons Engineering Technician to join our team. As a key member of our naval operations, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and installation of complex electronic systems on board our ships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and evaluate electronic equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Operate diagnostic systems, specialized tools, and test equipment to identify and repair faults
  • Perform diagnostic analysis on components and systems to determine root causes of issues
  • Repair and replace faulty electronic equipment to ensure system reliability
  • Inspect, maintain, and install electronic components to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards
  • Compile logs, reports, and maintenance documentation to track system performance and maintenance history
  • Read and interpret electronic drawings to understand system design and functionality

Requirements:

  • Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
  • Grade 10 or Secondaire IV education, with a focus on math and physics
  • Related civilian trade experience or diploma
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with minimal supervision
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills

Training and Development:

As a Weapons Engineering Technician, you will undergo comprehensive training and development to ensure you have the skills and knowledge required to excel in this role. This will include academic training, on-the-job training, and opportunities for specialized skills development.

Work Environment:

You will work on board our ships, with regular deployments to various locations around the world. You will be part of a close-knit team, working together to maintain and operate complex systems in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
