The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) at Southern Health-Santé Sud plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a people-centered approach in various healthcare settings. This position requires a strong commitment to ongoing education and maintaining competency in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:- Apply the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and promote a culture of quality and safety.
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and actions to be taken on unusual matters.
- Maintain a high level of proficiency in both official languages (English/French) and adhere to the Regulated Health Professions Act.
- Hold current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) and maintain the required scope of practice.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
- Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
- Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
- Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification
- Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification
- Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
- Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
- Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to lead and make decisions autonomously
- Strong organizational skills and flexibility to meet the demands of the position
