Job Title: Registered Nurse

The Registered Nurse (RN)/Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN) at Southern Health-Santé Sud plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and promoting a people-centered approach in various healthcare settings. This position requires a strong commitment to ongoing education and maintaining competency in accordance with Southern Health-Santé Sud policies, Professional Standards of Practice, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply the nursing process to support clients/residents/patients in achieving and maintaining their optimum level of health.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care and promote a culture of quality and safety.
  • Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities, work methods, and actions to be taken on unusual matters.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in both official languages (English/French) and adhere to the Regulated Health Professions Act.
  • Hold current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM) and maintain the required scope of practice.
  • Participate in ongoing education and professional development to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in both official languages (English/French)
  • Current registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) or the College of Registered Psychiatric Nurses of Manitoba (CRPNM)
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
  • Current Canadian Triage and Acuity Scale (CTAS) certification
  • Trauma Nursing Care Course (TNCC) certification
  • Knowledge of Professional Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics
  • Demonstrated ability to foster a collaborative interdisciplinary environment
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships
  • Demonstrated conflict resolution skills
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to problem-solving
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and make decisions autonomously
