Halton Healthcare is seeking a skilled Perioperative Nurse to join our surgical team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the operating room environment to ensure a safe and efficient surgical experience.
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless communication and coordination of patient care.
- Provide direct patient care, including vital sign monitoring, medication administration, and wound care.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans, in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Contribute to the maintenance of a clean and organized operating room environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
- Assist in the training and education of new staff members, as needed.
- Current registration and good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario.
- Current BCLS Certification required at time of hire.
- Successful completion of post-graduate OR course required.
- Perioperative Certification or willingness to obtain considered an asset.
- Recent OR experience.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good team player, ability to utilize critical thinking skills, positive caring attitude, flexible and willingness to learn.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of this position.
- Satisfactory employment and attendance record.
- Previous leadership experience required.
This is a full-time position, working various rotating hour shifts, including days and evenings, with some on-call duties required. The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
