Job Description

Dexter Construction Company Limited is a diversified construction company engaged in all major aspects of the heavy civil construction industry. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team and contribute to the success of our projects.

The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, executing, and delivering civil projects on time, within budget, and in accordance with specifications. Key responsibilities include defining project requirements and scope, acquiring project resources, and supervising the efforts of project team members. Efficient delivery of project deliverables, effective quality control, and clear communication of expectations to stakeholders and senior management are critical tasks that must be performed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Attend Job Handover Meetings, including Critical Path scheduling, document organization and control, equipment and manpower requirements, and review of the estimate for completeness of take-off, scope, and pricing.
  • Oversee control of project cost by developing a project budget with the estimator.
  • Attend all job progress meetings.
  • Develop, maintain, and regularly review up-to-date project progress information, including Critical Path scheduling, Work in Progress Reports, and analysis of all job costs.
  • Work with the General Superintendent and on-site superintendent to coordinate the activities of foremen and subcontractor work crews as required.
  • Provide necessary documents to field superintendents, foremen, and project coordinators in a timely manner and follow up on all open action items.

Requirements:
  • 5-10 years' experience managing construction projects.
  • Civil construction experience is required.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Utilizes strong organizational and planning skills.
  • Must be knowledgeable in all aspects of civil construction.
  • Strong management, delegation, planning, and leadership skills.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment and reasoning.
  • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to deal with people tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Outlook).
