About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Plant Engineering Co-op student to join our team at IKO Industries Ltd. in Brampton, ON.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Plant Engineer to complete various plant tasks and improvement projects.
- Interact with vendors to obtain quotations and source services and parts, including coordinating on-site visits and reviewing work scope.
- Design mechanical solutions to problems using 2D design software.
- Assist with general administration tasks, such as organizing documents and issuing purchase requisitions.
- Promote a safe culture through example and participate in hazard identification and safety audit activities.
- Perform other duties as required to support new and ongoing projects within the plant engineering team.
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a 1st to 4th year Mechanical Engineering program or a 2nd/3rd year Mechanical Engineering Technology program.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with vendors and plant personnel.
- Proficiency in mechanical design using AutoCad software.
- A curious and eager mindset to learn about the plant engineering field.
