Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled In-Shop Service Technician to join our team at Cummins Inc. in Dartmouth, NS.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a union environment, with a regular schedule of 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

As an In-Shop Service Technician, you will be responsible for completing repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under supervision.

You will apply documented procedures and policies to complete basic repairs and schedule maintenance, including preparing required parts and tools.

Additionally, you will disassemble, inspect, and clean engines and/or engine components, and assist with completion of required documentation, such as work completed documentation, time sheets, warranty claims, and quality forms.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Heavy duty mechanics Red Seal certification is required, as well as a vocational diploma from a relevant technical institution.

A locally valid driving permit is preferred, and this position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

An intermediate level of workshop experience is required, along with intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products.

Base salary rate is commensurate with experience, and additional benefits vary between locations, including options such as our Company Pension Plan, Medical/Dental/Life Insurance, Health Savings Account, and a full complement of personal and professional benefits.
