About the Opportunity

The Nova Scotia Health Authority is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Manager to join our team. Reporting to the Health Services Manager, this role is accountable for the nursing units that report to the Health Services Manager. The successful candidate will enable full scope of practice, promote a supportive work environment, and service that encompasses ethics, organizational health, population health, quality, risk, and safety as part of the program accountabilities.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in nursing, current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Registered Nurses (NSCN), and five years of recent clinical nursing experience. At least one year of experience in a rural setting is preferred. The ideal candidate will also have two years of experience in a supervisory, leadership, and/or management role, and completion of or willingness to complete a leadership development program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the Health Services Manager in all aspects of program service delivery
  • Ensure compliance with Quality Standards, and all relevant legislation, policies, and standards related to health care, Accreditation, and professional nursing services
  • Identify and report budgetary pressures to the manager and assist the manager in identifying mitigation strategies to keep spending within budget
