About the Role

Ajitt Mechanical Insulation Services is seeking a skilled Insulation Specialist to join our team. As an Insulation Specialist, you will be responsible for ensuring the thermal integrity of buildings by applying and installing insulation materials.

Key Responsibilities
  • Select and Apply Insulation Materials: Choose the appropriate insulation type and apply it using various methods, including spraying, blowing, and pasting.
  • Supervise and Train: Instruct apprentices and supervise other workers to ensure the job is completed efficiently and safely.
  • Measure and Cut Insulation: Measure and cut insulation materials to the required shape and dimensions using hand and power tools.
  • Install Vapour Barriers and Fire-Retardant Materials: Install vapour barriers and fire-retardant materials to ensure the building's thermal integrity.
  • Estimate Costs and Materials: Estimate the costs and materials required for the job, ensuring that the project is completed within budget.
  • Operate Computer Software: Operate CADD and other computer software systems to design and plan insulation projects.
  • Assemble and Dismantle Scaffolding: Assemble, erect, and dismantle scaffolding, rigging, and hoisting equipment as required.
  • Remove Hazardous Materials: Remove asbestos, ceramic fibres, lead, and mould and urea-formaldehyde insulation materials from buildings.
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Physically Demanding: The role requires physical stamina, including handling heavy loads and standing for extended periods.
  • Manual Dexterity: The Insulation Specialist must have manual dexterity to handle tools and materials.
  • Work Term and Hours: The role is permanent, with 32 hours of work per week.
