Clinical Research Medical Director - Climate Change and Sustainability Lead
About the Role:
Interior Health Authority is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Research Medical Director - Climate Change and Sustainability Lead to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of the Climate Change and Sustainability Roadmap, working closely with the IH Climate Change and Sustainability Governance Committee.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and lead the implementation of the Climate Change and Sustainability Roadmap, ensuring alignment with the organization's vision, mission, and values.
- Provide leadership to an integrated organization-wide strategy that reduces environmental impacts of health services and increases clinical staff literacy, engagement, and empowerment around planetary health.
- Act as the primary liaison between key clinical partners to support the establishment of climate change and health governance, incorporate environmental metrics into quality and safety reporting, and establish environmentally sustainable procurement practices.
- Address climate justice by integrating medical expertise into the broader climate change discourse, supporting the identification and mitigation of health disparities exacerbated by climate change.
- Work collaboratively with counterparts across portfolios to establish the functional leadership structure, ensuring consultation and collaboration with executive leadership, other key partners, external agencies, and government as required.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
