Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Carpenter Foreperson to join our team at MEG Energy Capital Projects near Conklin, Alberta. This is a temporary, full-time position with a well-balanced schedule of 8 days on and 6 days off rotation.

 

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of journeypersons and apprentices as an experienced Carpenter Journeyperson, assigning daily tasks and performing front-line supervision for a crew of 8 to 12 workers.
  • Conduct daily and weekly safety meetings and inspections, complete follow-up activities, and submit daily activity reports/daily logs to the supervisor.
  • Promote and ensure the Field Level Risk Assessment (FLRA) process is conducted before every task with the crew, review weekly servicing and preventative maintenance schedules.
  • Report back to clients and/or the Project Manager on job progress, estimated time to completion, and employee evaluations.
  • Ensure all new hires/transfers receive required orientations, attend and participate in site-specific orientations.
  • Ensure adequate and suitable safety equipment, including PPE, is supplied, readily accessible, properly used, and maintained.

 

Requirements

  • Aerial Work Platform certification.
  • Confined Space certification.
  • Fall Protection certification.
  • H2S Alive certification.
  • Satisfactory completion of a Pre-Access Drug and Alcohol Test.
