Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is $42.31/Hr. - $53.85/Hr., based on the location and job requirements.

Job Summary

This role involves assessing patients for optimal nutrition support using advanced clinical nutrition knowledge. You will provide recommendations to the medical team regarding route of nutrition support, enteral vs. parenteral, and composition of most appropriate nutrition support and vitamin and mineral supplementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess patients for optimal nutrition support utilizing advanced clinical nutrition knowledge.
  • Provide recommendations to the medical team regarding route of nutrition support, enteral vs. parenteral, and composition of most appropriate nutrition support and vitamin and mineral supplementation.
  • Develop nutrition support regimes and monitor clients on a regular basis for continued appropriateness, tolerance, and safety.
  • Provide education sessions related to nutrition support for healthcare professionals, including students and interns from all professions.
  • Act as a clinical resource for dietitians, students, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Initiate the development and participate in nutrition-related research projects.
  • Participate in the development of nutrition-related policies, procedures, and guidelines for designated areas.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you must have:

  • A Registered Dietitian with the College of Dietitians of British Columbia (CDBC).
  • Two (2) years' recent, related clinical experience in a medical/surgical care setting plus Certified Nutrition Support Clinician (CNSC) from the American Society of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (ASPEN) or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Meets additional qualifications as defined in Restricted Activity B for designing, dispensing, and/or administering therapeutic diets through parenteral means as set out in the College Bylaws.
