Job Description

**Job Title:** Education Assistant

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a qualified Education Assistant to provide support to students in and out of the classroom. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting students with their educational and personal needs, and will work closely with teachers and other support staff to ensure the best possible outcomes for students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with diverse needs, including those with special needs, English language learners, and students who require academic support.
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning, implementation, and assessment, as well as with classroom management and organization.
  • Support students with their personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and dressing.
  • Assist with behavior management and crisis intervention, as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and supportive learning environment.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of a recognized program in special needs assistance (e.g. Education Assistant Program).
  • One (1) year of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties and responsibilities of the job.

The successful candidate will work in a dynamic and supportive school environment, with a focus on student-centered learning and community engagement. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to student success and well-being.

Hourly Rate: $35.11 per hour.
