Electrical Engineer for Global Projects

We are seeking an Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering new grad with interest in Control Systems and Automation to join our PDG team. As a member of our team, you will support projects globally from our Sudbury office, with opportunities to work in other Hatch offices and at project job sites.

- You will work independently and as part of a team to complete control and automation engineering design deliverables for various projects.
- You will prepare Control and Automation deliverables, including Instrumentation and Control Design Criteria, Communication design criteria, Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams, Procurement packages, and Engineering Lists.
- You will design deliverables such as Interconnection diagrams, Loop Drawings, Layout drawings, Installation drawings, Control Panel Layouts, and Control System Architecture.
- You will program using PLC and/or DCS as per project requirements and develop factory acceptance test and software acceptance test checking procedures.
- You will become knowledgeable about instrumentation and control equipment design and their practical applications, regional codes and standards, various engineering design tools and applications, and Hatch's quality procedures.
- You will work collaboratively in a multi-discipline environment to deliver the best solution for our clients.
- You must have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Chemical Engineering from an accredited university.
- You must be working towards graduating in 2025 or recently graduated.
- You must have excellent academic credentials and be actively involved in extra-curricular and volunteer activities.
- You must have an interest in Control Systems engineering and communication systems, which will be considered an asset.
- You must have previous coop or work terms in controls, automation, and electrical engineering design and execution, which will also be considered an asset.
- You must have technical experience with controls systems design, databases, programming, and proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
- You must have a good understanding of engineering and business fundamentals as they apply to engineering problems and projects.
- You must be able to learn quickly and take on new challenges.
- You must be a collaborative team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
- You must have excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- You must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
- You must show critical and creative thinking and problem-solving, and bring forward solutions for our clients' toughest challenges.
The estimated salary range for this role is $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
