Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Development Specialist to join our team at Educare Children's Centre. As an integral part of our childcare program, this role is responsible for creating a nurturing environment that fosters the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Bathe, diaper, and feed infants and toddlers while maintaining their overall well-being;
  • Develop and implement engaging child-care programs that support and promote learning through play;
  • Engage children in activities such as storytelling, teaching songs, and preparing crafts to stimulate their creativity;
  • Guide and assist children in developing proper eating, dressing, and toilet habits;
  • Observe children for signs of potential learning or behavioral issues and prepare reports for parents and guardians;
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss progress and address any challenges faced by children;
  • Maintain collaborative relationships with coworkers and community service providers working with children;
  • Create a safe and healthy environment that protects the well-being of children.
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A valid Early Childhood Education (ECE) Certificate;
  • The ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Experience working with young children (0-5 years old).
Work Environment:

This position involves working in a childcare setting with frequent bending, crouching, and kneeling. The work can be physically demanding due to repetitive tasks. However, we strive to maintain a comfortable and supportive work environment for all staff members.

Compensation:

Our estimated salary range for this position is between $45,000 - $65,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a permanent contract with 35 hours of work per week.
