Job Title: Distribution Regional Engineer

Are you a seasoned engineer with extensive knowledge in distribution engineering? We have an exciting opportunity for a 15-month contract role with potential for renewal, offering a competitive rate and a chance to work with a renowned company.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a relevant engineering field or equivalent.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering recognized by universities in Canada, Power Engineering preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience and technical knowledge in both Overhead - and underground electric utility distribution systems operating at voltages at or below 35kV, including automation.
  • Broad range of distribution related skills including planning, system engineering, protection engineering, design, and project management.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform system analysis.
  • Develop safe engineering solutions by using initiative and judgement to perform tasks including developing designs, analyzing and resolving problems, and interpreting engineering specifications on medium complexity and scope assignments.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Maintain good standing in Engineers & Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) throughout the term of the contract.
  • Maintain Driver's License Class 5 throughout the term of the contract.
Qualifications:
  • Must have a P. Eng. and registered with EGBC in good standing.
  • Class 5 driver's license.
  • Intermediate English skills for professional environment, written and spoken.
  • Knowledge and understanding of distribution engineering - Medium Voltages (4kv - 35kv) for overhead and underground assets, understanding transformation and services at the secondary level would also be an expectation.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of: CymeDist, CymeTCC, SpidaCALC, or PLSCAD.
  • Canadian Utility experience.
