Fire Alarm Systems Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Specialist to join our team at Johnson Controls. This is a unique opportunity for an experienced professional to leverage their expertise in fire alarm systems to contribute to the success of our organization.
About the RoleThis role will involve leading installation, commissioning, and verification activities on fire alarm related equipment for all types of installations, including connection of devices and circuits. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of blueprints, diagrams, schematics, submittals, and specifications, as well as excellent supervision and delegation skills.
Key Responsibilities- Lead installation, commissioning, and verification activities on fire alarm related equipment;
- Read and interpret technical documentation, including blueprints, diagrams, and schematics;
- Supervise and coordinate work with colleagues and electricians working on fire alarm systems;
- Complete verification reports for submission to customers and conduct system acceptance tests with regulatory authorities;
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of various product lines;
- Troubleshoot hardware issues, ground faults, open and short circuits;
- Travel throughout the district business area as required;
- Conduct programming modifications to existing systems without supervision;
- Program audio and non-audio standalone systems upon training;
- Assist in developing employee training programs for employees and customers;
- Mentor less experienced technicians;
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A minimum of 3 years of experience within the fire protection industry;
- A college diploma in Fire Protection or Electrical/Electronic Technology or equivalent experience;
- Completion of a Canadian Fire Alarm Association (CFAA) certification or equivalent;
