Job Summary

AECOM is seeking an Architectural Designer to join our team in Mississauga, ON. As a key member of our Buildings + Places Architectural team, you will be responsible for producing detailed technical drawings and architectural designs to effectively communicate building designs to clients and contractors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce detailed technical drawings to effectively communicate building designs to clients and contractors.
  • Produce architectural designs and drawings in REVIT.
  • Utilize your knowledge of building technology, assembly, and construction methodology to ensure technical excellence in all projects.
  • Apply architectural concepts, building code, and zoning requirements to develop architectural design documents to the satisfaction of the client(s).
  • Prepare and review working drawings, ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, including the Ontario Building Code.
  • Make sure REVIT and BIM requirements, standards, and quality are followed.
  • Develop photo-realistic renderings, animated walkthroughs, and comprehensive 3D models.
  • Successfully accomplish assigned work within the agreed-upon deadline and budget.
  • Support project teams, including architects, engineers, and other consultants, on project coordination, as required.
  • Participate in contract administration and shop drawing review processes, contributing to the alignment with project specifications and client expectations.
  • Maintain project documentation and organization of project files, ensuring accuracy and accessibility.
  • Contribute to design discussions by formulating and presenting design decisions effectively.
  • Stay current with industry trends and technical innovations, incorporating new ideas, models, and technologies into projects.
  • Follow sustainable design practices.

Qualifications:

  • Must have completed or will be completing their Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Architectural Technologist Diploma/Certificate in Architectural Technology.
