Heavy Haulage Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Haulage Operations Specialist to join our team at HBHJ Transportation Inc.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and driving straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, while ensuring the safety of themselves and others on the road.
This is a permanent, full-time position with a salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and adjust routes based on changing conditions to minimize fuel consumption and carbon emissions;
- Load and unload goods safely and efficiently;
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition;
- Oversee the maintenance of the vehicle, including regular checks on tires, lights, brakes and other equipment;
- Record cargo information, hours of service, distance travelled and fuel consumption;
- Maintain accurate records of all trips, including time spent on the road and any issues encountered.
Requirements:
- Demonstrated experience as a heavy haulage truck driver, preferably with a commercial license;
- Strong knowledge of transportation laws and regulations;
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills;
- Able to work independently and as part of a team;
- Physically fit and able to lift up to 23 kg (50 lbs) occasionally.
Working Conditions:
- This is an on-the-road job that requires frequent travel across Canada;
- Hours of work may vary, but typically involve 30-40 hours per week;
- Must be available to work overtime when required.
