Cloud Transformation Strategist

At BQ International Ltd., we are seeking a skilled Enterprise Cloud Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving the corporation's transformation from a data centre/on-premise based organization to a cloud-centric/cloud-first organization.

The Enterprise Cloud Architect will lead the development of a technology strategy and roadmap that enables the corporation to support current and future business capabilities on a cloud platform. This will involve working closely with business owners and Lean Portfolio Management to manage the enterprise portfolio, business epics, and technology enablers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Making strategic decisions that impact the Corporation's ability to achieve its strategic directions while maintaining a rationalized portfolio that achieves synergy across the enterprise.
  • Providing direction to individual client work units on acceptable tactical objectives and plans for moving from tactical to strategic architectural objectives.
  • Collaborating with leaders of the corporation to modernize and optimize lines of business and address market disruptors.
  • Monitoring and adopting technology innovations into the corporation's technical footprint.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in information technology covering a wide range of technologies and disciplines, including:
    • Five years as an architect.
    • Three years as a lead architect.
  • Experience successfully migrating a corporation from a data centre/on-premise deployment model to the cloud, including:
    • Creating strategy, roadmaps, vision statements, business cases, solution contexts, and setting principles and standards for a secure, stable, fault-tolerant, cost-effective cloud computing environment.
    • Participating in and leading migration efforts as part of delivery programs that migrated compute power from on-premise to the cloud.
  • Experience with the Azure cloud platform is mandatory.
  • Experience with Google and Amazon cloud platforms is desirable.
  • Experience with Kubernetes is desirable.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based architectural principles, including SaaS, PaaS, multitenancy, and multi-tiered infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with enterprise application integration, including SOA, ESB, and ETL.
  • Familiarity with process orchestration, BPM, CEP, MDM, BI/BA, etc.
  • Familiarity with security processes, standards, and issues involved in multi-tier cloud or hybrid applications.
  • Familiarity with principles of network, application, and information security.
  • Architectural frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, etc. knowledge is an asset.
  • SAFe Architect Certification is an asset.
