About the Role:

The DDRC is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Community Resource Specialist to join our team. As a Community Resource Specialist, you will play a vital role in supporting adults with developmental disabilities in achieving their goals and aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement personalized plans to support clients in achieving their goals and objectives.
  • Provide support and guidance to clients in areas such as career planning, education, employment, and volunteer activities.
  • Facilitate and support clients in accessing community resources and services.
  • Collaborate with support networks and ensure regular communication with stakeholders.
  • Attend all required workshops and re-certifications to maintain knowledge and skills.
  • Complete all required documentation within outlined timeframes.
  • Ensure full understanding and working knowledge of the 'Community Resource Worker Position Profile'.
  • Maintain awareness of and adherence to Agency policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Disabilities studies certificate/diploma or similar education or equivalent experience.
  • Current Standard First Aid CPR/AED – Level C certification.
  • Driver's license (and vehicle) considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in the community.
  • Ability to identify issues requiring advocacy and advocate on behalf of clients and people with disabilities.
  • Ability to coordinate and access appropriate services and supports with clients.
