About the Role

The School District #39 (Vancouver) is seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our Finance department, you will play a critical role in analyzing and interpreting financial data to inform business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive financial models and forecasts to support budgeting and planning
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide recommendations to senior management on financial performance and trends
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify areas for cost savings and process improvements
  • Design and implement financial reporting and dashboard solutions to enhance visibility and transparency
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on financial matters to stakeholders
Requirements
  • Valid CPA designation required
  • Minimum 5 years' relevant senior accounting experience
  • Thorough knowledge and experience with Canadian Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Public Sector Accounting Standards (PSAS)
  • Experience working in supporting the budget process within a publicly funded organization an asset
  • Proven ability to establish priorities, work independently, and apply good judgment and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as strong analytical skills, data manipulation, and Excel skills
