Speech Language Pathologist Opportunity

Humber River Health is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our dynamic team in the Seniors' Care Department/Unit. As a valued member of our Allied Services Department, you will play a pivotal role in delivering diagnostic, technical, supportive, and therapeutic patient care.

The ideal candidate will possess a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology or equivalent, be a member in good standing with CASLPO, and eligible for registration with the Ontario Association of Speech Language Pathologists and Audiologists. Experience in dysphagia management and Videofluoroscopic evaluation of swallowing is preferred.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring a high standard of patient care in accordance with Speech Language Pathology policies and procedures.
  • Assessing and managing adults with dysphagia and communication disorders in an acute care setting.
  • Collaborating and communicating with other members of the interdisciplinary team.
  • Providing appropriate assessment and treatment for referred patients with acute medical needs.
  • Recording patient assessment, progress, and discharge status.
  • Providing discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team members.
  • Recording workload measurement data.
  • Providing consultation to other disciplines in the area of physical medicine.
  • Clinical supervision of Speech Language Pathology students.
