DUTIES

The Thompson Rivers University Employment Preparation Department invites applications for a sessional lecturer to teach the Mathematics Education course MATH 0600 in Winter 2025.

Course Description: Students develop skills in advanced algebra, functions, and calculus preparation. This course fulfills the ABE Provincial Level (Grade 12 equivalency) requirements.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in a relevant field required
  • At least one degree in Math required
  • Teaching Certificate or Instructor's Diploma or 5 years teaching experience required
  • Experience teaching diverse student populations required
  • Demonstrated evidence of scholarly teaching required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years teaching experience in ABE science courses
  • Skills in building intercultural understanding, empathy, and mutual respect
  • Experience integrating Indigenous knowledge and teaching methods
