About the Role

Cooke Aquaculture Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our Saltwater Team in Shelburne, Nova Scotia. As a Saltwater Aquaculture Worker, you will be responsible for monitoring and operating feeding systems, reporting irregularities in stocks, and performing various tasks related to marine cage and net installation and removal.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate feeding systems to ensure optimal fish growth and health
  • Report any observed irregularities in stocks to management
  • Install and inspect/repair grids, marine cages, and nets
  • Operate, maintain, and clean aquaculture equipment and enclosures
  • Perform general site maintenance, including net washing
  • Operate boats for aquaculture operations
  • Grade and weigh aquaculture stock
  • Assist with harvest operations as required
Requirements
  • Be a self-motivated team player with a strong work ethic
  • Be willing to work flexible hours and schedules
  • Have the ability to work in outside weather conditions on aquaculture sites and/or aboard maintenance vessels
  • Hold or be willing to obtain a Marine Emergency Duties (MED) certificate
  • Experience in the aquaculture field is an asset, but on-the-job training is provided
