We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Coordinator to join our team at Glencore Sudbury Integrated Nickel Operations in Ontario.

This is a full-time, permanent staff position reporting to the Occupational Hygiene & Environment Specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing expert advice on environmental projects, regulations, and coordination of activities to protect the environment and worker health and safety while maintaining profitability.

The Environmental Coordinator will be accountable for participation in the design, planning, and implementation of effective management systems and control programs to ensure compliance with prescribed environmental legislation and corporate practices.

Key responsibilities include liaising with government regulators and stakeholders to identify potential risks and opportunities in regulatory changes and/or developments.

The role also involves direct daily supervision of Occupational Hygiene / Environmental Technicians and/or Technologists and summer students, as well as collaborating with the Site Rehabilitation Lead and Occupational Hygiene Lead to achieve Environmental and Hygiene objectives.

About You:

You must have a strong technical knowledge of internal and external environmental obligations and management systems, along with leadership, communication, analytical, and planning skills to manage the scope and distributed obligations and roles.

A minimum of a university undergraduate degree in environment or a related science, with at least 5 years of relevant work experience in the environmental discipline, is required.

Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per annum
