As a Pool Attendant with the City of Thunder Bay, you will play a crucial role in ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for our community.
About the Job
This is an exciting opportunity to join our aquatic team as a Pool Attendant. You will be responsible for assisting the public, enforcing pool rules, and maintaining a clean and safe environment.
Responsibilities
- Ensuring bathers are properly prepared before entering the pool area
- Regulating the number of people on the slide and enforcing safety procedures
- Familiarizing yourself with emergency procedures and equipment
- Assisting lifeguards and instructors as needed
- Enforcing pool rules and regulations
- Responding to public inquiries or complaints
- Operating sound systems and keeping necessary records
- Repairing equipment or taking appropriate action
Requirements
- Current certifications: RLSSC Bronze Cross, CRCS Leaders, National Lifeguard Service, or CRCS/LSS Instructor
- Standard First Aid and CPR Level C certification
- Excellent customer service skills and ability to work effectively with others
- Positive attitude and willingness to take initiative
Conditions of Employment
- Maintaining current certifications throughout employment
- Completing customer service and WHMIS training within three months of employment
- Undergoing a successful Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
- Working irregular hours and weekends
Salary Information
The estimated annual salary for this position is $40,000 - $50,000, depending on qualifications and experience.
