Job Summary:

The School District #42 (Maple Ridge-Pitt Meadows) is seeking a qualified Accounts Clerk to join our team on a temporary basis. As an Accounts Clerk, you will be responsible for performing a variety of duties in a school or office environment with an emphasis on bookkeeping and accounting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform bookkeeping and accounting duties, including data entry, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Operate office equipment, computers, and software programs with keyboarding skills at 50 net wpm.
  • Provide excellent customer service to staff, students, parents, contractors, and visitors.
  • Work independently and with initiative to meet deadlines and achieve goals.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial information.

Requirements:

  • Successful completion of Grade 12 with course emphasis on business practices and procedures plus one year post-secondary courses in the accounting field.
  • One (1) year experience in a computerized accounting environment or the equivalent training in the accounting field.
  • Familiarity with school procedures is an asset.
  • Ability to make arithmetical computations quickly and accurately.
  • Thorough knowledge of bookkeeping.
  • A valid B.C. Driver's License.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive hourly rate of $30.68.
  • A temporary full-time position working 35 hours per week.
