Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Journeyman Service Electrician to join our team in Saskatoon and the surrounding area. The successful candidate will be responsible for completing daily service calls, control/BAS wiring, fire alarm systems, refrigeration electrical, EV charging installations, and commercial TI's.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform new installations and repair work on electrical equipment and wiring
  • Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new and existing installations
  • Cut, bend, thread, and install conduits and other types of electrical conductor enclosures and fittings
  • Pull wire through conduits, walls, and ceiling spaces
  • Splice, join, and connect wire to components to form complete control systems
  • Troubleshoot, analyze, repair, recondition, and reinstall electrical equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration systems, and various BAS applications
  • Experience working with electrical and electronic testing equipment
  • Report on and recommend improvements to electrical and mechanical equipment
  • Develop and manage work orders, logs, and other documentation accurately and on time
  • Adhere to all company policies and procedures
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision and in accordance with Ainsworth Health & Safety policies and procedures
  • Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by and in accordance with all applicable Health, Safety, and Environmental company policies and government legislation/regulations
  • Some after-hours and weekend work will be required

Requirements:

  • Journeyman Electrician with Commercial experience (5+ years)
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and terminology and the Canadian Electrical Code
  • Experience with Fire Alarms is an asset
  • Ability to read and draw simple electrical sketches and schematics
  • Excellent command of the English Language, both written and oral
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to execute precision work
  • Strong work ethic and communication skills
  • Commercial/Construction installations experience
  • Must be able to obtain and pass security clearances once hired
  • Class 5 driver's license and clean driver's abstract
