We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Program Director to join our team at the Nature Conservancy of Canada. As a key member of our conservation team, you will be responsible for leading our land conservation efforts in Nova Scotia, working closely with landowners, communities, and other stakeholders to protect and preserve our natural areas.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development and implementation of conservation plans and strategies to protect and preserve our natural areas.
- Work closely with landowners, communities, and other stakeholders to identify and acquire lands for conservation.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key partners, including government agencies, Indigenous communities, and conservation organizations.
- Manage and oversee the work of staff and contractors to ensure effective implementation of conservation plans.
- Develop and manage budgets and work plans to ensure effective use of resources.
- Master's degree in a relevant field, such as environmental science, conservation biology, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in land conservation, environmental management, or a related field.
- Proven track record of success in leading conservation efforts and working with diverse stakeholders.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
