About Us:
Frind Estate Winery is a leading winery in the region, known for producing high-quality wines. We are seeking an experienced Vineyard Farmhand to join our team.
Salary: $45,000 - $60,000 per year
About the Role:
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various tasks related to grape cultivation, including pruning, fertilizing, and harvesting. You will work closely with our experienced vineyard staff to ensure the optimal growth and production of grapes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guide growing shoots into optimal development positions
- Maintain and manage growth of vines, vine canopy, and grapes
- Mixing fertilizer
- Plant, cultivate, and irrigate crops
- Remove manually all suckers and water sprouts
- Tie and secure plants
- Weeding
- Fertilize and spray crops
- Harvest crops
- Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment
- Cut horticultural crops
Requirements:
- Type of crops: Grapes, Vineyard
- Equipment and machinery experience: Hand tools
Work Conditions:
The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures. You will also need to lift heavy objects and stand for extended periods. Overtime may be required during peak harvest seasons.
